My Greatest Project
I’ve been writing for magazines, such as the Gamecock and The Poultry Press for almost 20 years. I’ve always liked the magazine format for delivering information, but I always felt that there was a better format. One that can give you good articles but would provide articles on a grander platform.
What do I mean by a grander platform? One that not only provides information in written form, but to also include color pictures and illustrations, and accompanied with relevant resources and video tutorials. I also felt that there should be a place where the readers could discuss the material and ask me, the author, questions.
I’ve created a number of breeding programs that have proven through the years to be very successful, not just for me but for many breeders around the world. Many understand how to use breeding methods, such as inbreeding, line-breeding and outcrossing, but very few know that those methods are just tools. To breed properly, you must have a breeding program that encompasses a number of tools.
I would talk with my wife and daughter, on many occasions that I would like to have an online magazine that could do just that and a lot more. It took a while, but I came up with the perfect solution, and that is a Membership site for breeders. Not just any breeder, but the ones that are serious about breeding and are eager to learn. The breeder who has a strong desire to improve the quality and performance of his or her fowl, and who wants more than hybrid crosses that are usually other breeders throwaway stock. In many cases they are nothing more than that breeder’s culls.
This website is my greatest project! All my future work will be created for members of this site. It’s called “The Breeders Academy”. Will I continue to write for the magazines? Only time will tell.
My goal is to make sure my members get the information that they want and need most, and to help them create superior fowl. It is my goal to make the Breeders Academy the go to place for all serious breeders.
