Aaron lives in Arkansas, and is a founding member of the Breeders Academy and a breeder of the Breed known as the Buckeyes. This breed is very special. It’s the only breed created by a woman. Nettie Metcalf create this breed in the late 19th century. The breed was almost lost, and only a handful of breeders even raised this breed.
I learned to value of Quality over Quantity
This is a value all breeders should share – and insist on. It benefits all breeders and has an effect on the breed as a whole. If we hope to preserve the breed for future generations, we must adopt a standard that all breeders follow. This standard should include how we select and breed our strains, and the fowl we sell.
